Main cryptocurrencies, including Solana And XRP are up sharply in the new year, with both assets jumping at least 10% in the past 24 hours as Bitcoin And Dogecoin touch weekly highs.
Solana is up 10% over the past day to a current price of $209, marking the highest price seen for SOL since December 19. a new all-time high price above $263 in November, but then dropped as low as $176 on December 20.
Meanwhile, Ripple-linked XRP hit a seven-year high price of $2.82 in early December but has been volatile since. , falling as low as $1.98 twice since.
These aren’t the only altcoins to see a double-digit percentage gain over the past day, with Cardano (ADA), Avalanche (AVAX), Chain link (LINK), and Stellar (XLM) also does the same among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Such spikes come as Bitcoin climbed above the $97,000 mark for the first time in over a week on Thursday, sitting at $97,015 at the time of writing. This is up 3.5% on the day, with the rebound of the market leading coin likely propelling further market gains.
Bitcoin just defined a record price above $108,000 in December, but then proceeded to drop below $92,000 no later than December 30.
Dogecoin, the leading meme coin, also hit a weekly all-time high price of $0.34, up more than 7% on the day. DOGE is fresh off a three-year high price set in December, but the famously volatile coin fell below $0.27 on December 20 amid a broader crypto market selloff.
No coin even in the top 100 cryptocurrencies is having a better day than Farcoin (FARTCOIN), however, which has soared 47% over the past day to a current price of $1.40, after hitting a new all-time high of $1.45 earlier Thursday.
