Shytoshi Kusama, the enigmatic leader of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, is sparking reactions among SHIB enthusiasts with his enigmatic message on microblogging platform X.
In a recent jobKusama tweeted: “Hide me…” He posted this message while reacting to a photo of Kuro, a member of the Japanese Shiba Inu community. The image shows a dog sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
Notably, Kuro posted the image in response to crypto exchange Huobi’s tweet celebrating National Dog Month.
The community reacts
Amid reactions to Kusama’s response, some community members amusingly request if he was the one occupying the passenger seat of the vehicle. Others asked him to disclose When he considers taking off his mask.
Kusama hides his identity
For context, Kusama, who assumed the position of head of Shiba Inu after the sudden departure of the project’s pseudonymous founder Ryoshi, continued to hide his identity from the public.
Like Ryoshi, the lead developer of Shiba Inu also adopted a pseudonym – Shytoshi Kusama – to interact with the community. In July 2024, he made his first public appearance as the lead developer of Shiba Inu at the IVS Crypto event in Kyoto, Japan.
However, he assisted the conference in a masked costume, which makes his identification difficult. A few days later, he traveled to Mumbai, India, alongside another Shiba Inu developer, Kaal Dhairya. Both developers were spotted in the city of Mumbai wearing masked costumes.
Is Kusama planning to take off his mask?
Notably, many members of the Shiba Inu community have expressed frustration with his continued efforts to hide his identity. They have since urged him to take off the mask to help build investor confidence in the project. With Kusama tweeting “mask yourself,” it’s unclear if the developer plans to reveal his identity.
In the meantime, the community is preparing for the Blockchain Futuristic Conference (BFC) scheduled for August 13-14, 2024. Recall that Shiba Inu is one of the title sponsors of this year’s BFC conference. Inasmuch as title sponsorShiba Inu will be allocated a dedicated stand to present its ecosystem projects.
At last year’s edition, Shiba Inu demonstrated the highly anticipated Shibarium layer 2 blockchain. It remains to be seen whether the team will unveil a special package at this year’s Blockchain Futuristic Conference.
