Rapper Wiz Khalifa’s X account was allegedly hacked by scammers launching a WIZ coin meme based on Pump.fun. ZachXBT suspects this is the same hacker who hijacked the Truth Terminal founder’s X account.
In a Telegram channel on November 4, a blockchain investigator ZachXBT shared a screenshot of a now-deleted post from American rapper Wiz Khalifa account. The account currently has around 35.7 million followers.
ZachXBT has warned traders against purchasing the Pump.fun WIZ coin because he believes the rapper’s account was hacked by an anonymous scammer looking to sell a sham. coins.
“Don’t buy the Wiz Khalifa pump fun (token), this is the same hacker who compromised Andy Ayrey (creator of Truth Terminal) the other day,” ZachXBT said in his public Telegram group.
In the deleted X post, the hacker wrote on Wiz Khalifa’s account that he was “working with my team to remove $WIZ for the entire crypto family.” The account then shared a link to a Solana pump.fun (GROUND) a coin based on the meme that followers can purchase.
Based on data from DEX filterthe price of the WIZ coin soared by almost 2,000% and its market cap reached a high of over $2.5 million within the first 15 minutes of launch. However, within the hour that followed, the memecoin market cap fell below $28,000 as early holders began unloading huge sums of tokens.
At the time of writing, WIZ is down over 90% in the last 24 hours. The Pump.fun token is currently trading at a market cap of $7,900, according to data from DEX filter.
After posts related to meme coins were removed, no further posts on Wiz Khalifa’s account indicate whether the rapper or his team has regained control of the account.
Although the exact identity of the hacker is still unknown, independent blockchain detective ZachXBT believes it is the same hacker who was responsible for taking over the account of Truth Terminal developer Andy Ayrey.
October 29, crypto fraudsters diverted Truth Terminal creator Andy Ayrey’s X account to promote a questionable coin. They managed to make over $600,000 using the account to promote a token named Infinite Backrooms or IB.
The token was named after the AI chatroom experiment that ultimately led to the creation of the Truth Terminal AI-powered X account. The scammers promised an airdrop of the next token to anyone sharing and promoting their Telegram group.
On November 1, Ayrey made a job to resolve the X account hack. He said he hoped the scammers would have dropped IB tokens into his crypto wallet, but apparently he only received “copycats.” Additionally, he asked crypto wallet investigators if they could provide a list of known fraudulent wallets to block.
“Are there any good wallet investigators who would potentially be able to provide a list of all known fraudster wallets in order to blacklist them and prevent them from benefiting from such actions that we might consider take ? » Ayrey wrote.
