Blockchain Investigator ZachXBT alerted the community to a scam coin promotion using multiple major X accounts.
According to ZachXBT, the compromised accounts used to promote the fake coin on Solana (GROUND) include those from Yahoo News UK, Lenovo India, Money Control and People.
X accounts marked as Alexander Lacazette and Oliver Stone also posted about the fake coin on Solana. The scam token in question is nicknamed HACKED, as seen in screenshots shared by ZachXBT.
ZachXBT provided a update indicating that the fraudsters probably lost money.
“So far it appears that the scammers probably lost money buying this method as the top traders barely made around $1,000 and the market cap is $67,000.”

Based on available details, it appears that the compromised X accounts gave permission to the same site or app. Cautioning the community, ZachXBT advises users to revoke any connection to sites or applications that they no longer use.
In August, hackers used the X account of French football star Kylian Mbappé to promote a fake MBAPPE coin. Earlier this month, hackers compromised X accounts family members of former US President Donald Trump to promote a fake “World Liberty Financial”.
Notably, Trump unveiled the official crypto project on September 16.
